PUB: break the habit

The Precinct Studios, Sydney has released 'Break the Habit, a new web film that aims to draw attention to the epidemic of childhood obesity in Australia.

The spot directly targets parents who continue to feed their children junk food regardless of the damaging effects it is known to cause them. By comparing junk food to drug abuse, the commercial aims to make parents stop and think about their actions and remind them that junk food is a major contributor of childhood obesity, which is linked to a variety of chronic illnesses.
Says Henry Motteram, managing director of The Precinct Studios: "Parents need to be aware that if their children become obese, it is more than likely because of them. For whatever reason, many parents ignore the early signs that surround the onset of obesity and fail in their duty of care to address the problem. It is hoped that this commercial will highlight this and get people talking about the topic".

'Break the Habit' launched via social networking sites in a successful bid to start a discussion around not only childhood obesity but parents responsibility in the matter.

Support Scent is the first form of support ever that has been specifically designed for the vision impaired to sense. One that appeals to the sense of smell, as opposed to so many others that appeal to vision.

By purchasing and wearing Support Scent you’ll not only be raising funds for Guide Dogs Australia (one of the country’s most pre-eminent charities dedicated to the vision impaired), but actually letting vision impaired individuals themselves have a chance to be aware that the wider community cares. After all it’s one thing to be told about support, but quite another to experience it.

Scented Braille letters (and other letter forms preferred by the vision impaired) imbued with Support Scent will be sent out in advance to the blind and vision impaired where possible, ensuring they can recognise the fragrance.

With no government funding for Guide Dog programs, local Guide Dog organisations rely heavily on the generosity of individuals and corporations to fund their vital work. Support Scent is a dedicated national project to make people more aware of the plight of the vision impaired and show the difference that a Guide Dog makes to their lives.

Could you go 4320 minutes non-stop in LA? Are you up to the challenge?

V Australia, part of the Virgin brand, who in a new campaign via Droga5, Sydney, challenged 3 Twitter-obsessed friends to visit Los Angeles for 3 days sending a Tweet a minute for the entire 72 hour duration of their visit. The campaign is seeking to promote LA as a viable long weekend destination for Australians; with sister company Virgin Blue Holidays, V Australia is now offering a range of all-inclusive packages to the city from AUD$1199.

Visitors to 4320LA.com were required to submit (in 140 characters or less of course) the reason why they would be most suitable for the Twitter-based challenge. A film crew followed the chosen 3 from the moment they touch down at LAX on 22nd July and began the mind-jarring task of Tweeting every minute for 72 hours. Photos, video footage and of course, their Twitter feeds are available at the campaign site.

PUB: Rosemount Red

PUB: Drugs and driving

PUB: the natural choice

PUB: Australia by Baz Luhrmann

This is a tourism ad for Australia. An overworked sales executive rediscovers her life when she's invited to go walkabout in Australia. (Based on Australia the movie directed by Baz Luhrmann, of Strictly Ballroom and Moulin Rouge fame).

PUB: Stop creeping save lives

Creepers think it’s ok to go a little bit over the legal speed limit, but they’re wrong. Stop Creeping!

Speeding is South Australia’s number one road safety priority and is estimated to be a factor in more than 50% of crashes. Speeding does not occur in isolation and is often also a factor when a crash occurs as a result of alcohol or drug use, driving unrestrained or inattentive driving. Creepers cause the majority of speed related casualty crashes, with these primarily occurring in 50 and 60 zones.

The latest Speeding campaign focuses on low level speeding and has labelled people that think that it’s ok to go a bit over the legal speed limit as “Creepers”. Creepers do not speed excessively but habitually creep over the limit and think it’s ok. But they’re wrong!

The campaign is aimed at road users aged 16-39, particularly males in both regional and metro areas. In 2007, males accounted for 90% of driver fatalities and 63% of drivers who were seriously injured. Males were almost three times more likely to receive an expiation notice for speeding than females.

Stop Creeping over the Speed limit.
