Dean campaign paid bloggers
The 2004 presidential campaign of former Vermont Gov. Howard Dean made payments to two bloggers, Markos Zuniga of DailyKos.com and Jerome Armstrong of MyDD.com, who worked as "consultants" at $3,000 a month to drum up support for Dean's insurgent candidacy. Both bloggers insist that they were not paid for their support, and Zuniga disclosed on his blog that he was doing "technical consulting" for the Dean campaign.
