ART PROJECT: LEGO fix for distressed walls

C'est la crise...sortez vos LEGO.

For artist Jan Vormann, holes in old walls aren’t eyesores but opportunities to add colour to the city. Why should you have to repair a building using the material it was made out of?



Vormann found Lego to be the perfect solution for fixing cracks, holes and crumbling corners. He fills them with the plastic bricks, calling the practice Dispatchwork. Vormann had already left a colourful trail of repairs in Berlin; Bocchignano, Italy; and Tel Aviv, when Platform21 decided to invite him to patch up some Amsterdam walls during a Dispatchwork workshop in collaboration with Amsterdam's Centre for Architecture Arcam.

TECHNO: Lego Digital box

Lego, the Danish toy manufacturer will test launch its “DIGITAL BOX” in selected toyshops and LEGO® stores worldwide. This interactive terminal will utilize innovative technology supplied by metaio in the form of a software program specially-developed for the LEGO Group by the Munich-based experts in augmented reality solutions. Together with a camera and display screen, the software lets LEGO packaging reveal its contents fully-assembled within live 3D animated scenes.

GUERILLA: legoland vs eco-activist

One inch high activists have shut down Kingsnorth coal-fired power station. The drama unfolded at E.ON's replica of the plant at Legoland (sponsored by E.ON) while people at Climate Camp protest the planned new coal plant at Kingsnorth. Lego police were in attendance, along with a Lego police helicopter - but neither the campaigners nor the police would comment...

Je l'avoue Indiana Jones fut et restera longtemps un de mes héros favoris. Oui je ne le cache pas j'ai été longtemps un aficionados des Lego (j'en ai encore chez moi), alors lorsque Lucas arts et Lego s'amuse et bien moi aussi.
